How to Help?
Even small contributions matter. We’re looking for people to take on regular tasks, such as:
Night shifts
Currently we have a 2h shifts system. starts at 12am and end at 8 am. The shifts should have at least 2 people – new people are paired with existing campers. It’s a nice way to make a new friend!
Info shifts
During daytime (9am to 5pm) we have a table near the footpath, we need volunteers that are up to speak with tourists and people, handling them cards and inviting taking part of the events!
Programming
The camp hosts events ranging from political discussion circles to comrade cardio sessions. Help the camp programming to continue growing! You can help reach out to groups and speakers, keep track of offers to host events, and make sure our programming remains interesting and engaging!
Police liason / Versammlungsleiter
For this role it is best if you have an EU citizenship. You need to be comfortable with giving your ID to the police, and talking to the police on behalf of the camp. We are mostly struggling to find people to help with this during daytimes – business hours. As this is a sensitive role, it’s better if we know you a little bit before we are able to fully onboard you in this capacity. It’s very useful if you can come down to camp and talk to the people on duty, let us know that you can maybe help with this, and we can talk about it 🙂
Camping
It’s always nice to have more campers! It’s actually really quite warm and cozy in the tents. We can teach you how to be hardcore winter campers. We attempt to equip all the tents with multiple mattresses so you are not touching the cold ground, we have many, many sleeping bags and blankets to keep you warm as well as extra hot water bottles and hand/foot warmers to warm any cold extremities!
We have spare tents that we can quickly set up if we need more spots. We have a campers plenum every night (supposedly at 10pm but we do sort of run on anarchist time at the camp, sorry) where we figure out tents for everyone. Want to sleep solo? No problem, let us know! We can figure out comfortable sleeping arrangements during the nightly plenum.
Cleaning
Cleaning and making sure the camp stats cozy and inviting. This sounds secondary but it is pretty a big help! things get pretty messy especially after big events or demos, and who is sleeping there is often already pretty tired!
Food management
Bring meals (ideally hot soup) and help coordinating the kitchen and food supplies!
Create a workshop/panel with us
It doesn’t need to be super technical or require a lot of expertise. You can read your fav. Palestinian story, discuss your involvement at a talking group but also bring an instrument and play for/with us
Tech /AV
We are definitely in need of an extra hand or two for organising the setup / coordination and packdown of our nightly programming. Do you have some experience with live sound engineering or are you a musician who has a bit of ad-hoc experience behind a mixer, knows how to roll a lead and understands how not to blow a speaker? Get in touch! Ask for Kat and we can arrange an on-boarding.
Outreach
Take some of our visit card and bring to your university, bar, library. Or share our Instagram and telegram channel! The visibility of the protest camp is crucial to achieving what we are asking for and we are depending on each of you for this!
Last but not least, hang out with us! Chill, talk to us, join the workshops, discuss, ask /answer questions, network, connect with other activists.
