Toilet situation
The HKW is reachable by foot/wheels in about 5 minutes, to the west (opposite direction of the Reichstag). It is open from 12:00 daily and, via its Weltwirtschaft restaurant in back (facing the Spree), till 23:00 or later. There is also the Pavillon café on Scheidmannstraße, less than 5 minutes by foot/wheels southeast, open till 22:00, but they might ask you to pay if you are not buying something. At night, we can use the eco-campers’ toilet near Otto-von-Bismarck-Allee – a key is required, ask at the infostand
How can I help at the camp?
If you would like to help by bringing food/equipment or other things, check our telegram! There is always an up to date summary of things we lack.
If you want to help as a volunteer, we already love you! First, check the Telegram, but if you are not shy, just come by and say hi! There is always a person sitting at the info stand that will tell you which teams are in need of staff and with who to get in touch! And if you see people in west, strike a conversation! There is always more to be done.
How to schedule an event?
You are more than welcome to offer and self-organize political education workshops, mourning spaces, resistance songs and music, screenings, reading groups, activities for children, art or banner making, etc.
We intend for the protest camp to remain a serious, political and revolutionary space. There is room for celebration and joy, but the program aims at centering the achievement of our political goals.
You can submit your event proposal using this form
Your idea must be approved by someone from the program team, which usually takes at least 24 hours. The approval is less a form of exclusion/curation and more a filter to be sure that your proposed event (a) generally fits with the goals of the camp, and (b) specifically fits within the existing schedule. There can be two program events at the same time, but for example, a loud concert at the same time as a reading group would not work.
We will curate the ongoing program from these submissions and contact you to confirm whether the camp can host your proposed idea. If you have questions, please contact us.
