Besetzung Gegen Besatzung

Palestine isn’t going anywhere and neither are we

We stand in solidarity with all those protesting genocide and ethnic cleansing.

The invasion of Rafah last night, the so-called “safe zone”, has shown that every red line Germany and the Zionist allies in the West claim to draw is nothing but smoke and mirrors. Nothing has stopped the Zionist state from continuing its genocide in Gaza and nothing has yet swayed the West to stop enabling it.

This morning, students started an encampment at “Free” University Berlin, joining the global student movement. Within the blink of an eye, the university administration called the police on protesters. In December, when students occupied a lecture hall at “Free” University, the administration still needed to be pressured by the Berlin Senate to call the police on its own students. Today, apparently, this isn’t necessary anymore.

The police used brute force against protesters and pepper-sprayed a group of supporters inside the university building. The cafeteria was shut down, as was internet for the entire building – another attempt to silence voices against genocide.

There are reports that members of the press were forced out, infringing on freedom of press. This is especially infuriating because the police forced us to accommodate right-wing “journalists” known for harassing protesters at our encampment at Bundestag.

Within five hours, the encampment was removed and the over 150 participants were forcibly evicted. We salute those who stood up against German complicity in genocide, and urge everyone to join their ranks.

We reiterate our demands, in line with the students’ encampment demands:

  • An immediate end to all German weapons exports to the Zionist state; as well as all financial and diplomatic aid
  • An immediate, permanent, and unconditional ceasefire
  • An end to the criminalization of the Palestinian solidarity movement

Only we, the people, can stop these horrors. Escalate for Gaza.

Strike, Boycott, Occupy. If they evict one camp, we will build three more: until Palestine is free.
